Case Study - Social Research (Promotional Campaign – kids healthy lifestyles)
Our Task – To establish how a retailer could become well known for motivating children to eat healthily and live a healthy lifestyle.
- What are the barriers in school and at home?
- Which current initiatives work well?
- Brainstorm new ideas to target schools and parents.
Our Approach – Tackle it from all angles.
Approach 1 – Experts groups. Mini groups consisting of teachers, support assistants and health workers in schools.
Approach 2 – Coffee morning/afternoon/evening sessions with mums. From discussing barriers they face, problems in school to brainstorming new ideas we covered it all – the free flowing coffee helped enormously!
Approach 3 – Kids perspectives. The kids had a week to complete a fun task which gave us an insight into what they enjoy/don’t enjoy with regards healthy eating.
Our Result – detail was the key!
The client wanted as many ideas as possible to take forward for further development.
We gave a holistic and detailed picture of the issues, what is currently working well and what is failing. We identified gaps where the current provisions in schools is less than adequate and could be positively filled by a retailer. We provided a list of ideas based on what would work for parents, teachers, kids and that would enhance the retailer brand in this area.
